What Tumbl is

Tumbl is a swim coaching tool that analyses front crawl technique using artificial intelligence (AI). You upload a video of yourself swimming, our system reviews your technique in detail, a qualified coach checks the results, and you receive personalised feedback.

Who we are

Tumbl Swim is a trading name of Charlotte Bell Consulting Services Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 15840581), with its registered office at 46 Salisbury Road, EN11 0HX. You can contact us at [email protected].

Who can use Tumbl

Tumbl is only available to adults aged 18 and over. By creating an account, you confirm that you are 18 or older. If we discover that an account belongs to someone under 18, we will close it and delete the associated data.

Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for any activity on your account. Let us know straight away if you think someone else has accessed it.

What you’re paying for

Tumbl works on a pay-as-you-go basis. You pay per video analysis — there is no subscription. The price and any promotional discount are shown clearly at checkout before you pay. Prices are in pounds sterling and include VAT where applicable.

Payments are processed by a third-party payment provider. We never see or store your full card details.

Once payment is confirmed, you can upload a video straight away.

Cancellation and refunds

Under UK law, consumers normally have a 14-day right to cancel digital services and receive a refund. Because Tumbl delivers your analysis within minutes of upload, by uploading a video you expressly agree that the service begins immediately and you acknowledge that this means you lose your right to cancel that analysis once it has begun. You will be asked to confirm this at upload.

If you have paid but not yet uploaded a video, you can request a full refund within 14 days of purchase by emailing [email protected].

Separately from the cooling-off period, if something goes wrong on our side — for example, your video cannot be processed, your coach never reviews the analysis, or the service is materially broken — email us and we will refund or replace the affected analysis. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Your videos and our rights

Your video stays yours. You keep ownership of any video you upload. We do not claim ownership of it.

By uploading a video, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive licence to store, host, process, and analyse it for the purpose of providing your technique feedback and operating the service. This licence is worldwide and non-exclusive because we rely on cloud infrastructure to deliver the service. You can end this licence by asking us to delete your account, after which we will delete your videos in line with our Privacy Policy — except where we are required to keep limited records by law, and except as described in “Using videos to improve Tumbl” below.

Your analysis belongs to us. The technique analysis, scores, drill recommendations, and written feedback that Tumbl generates from your video are our intellectual property. We grant you a personal, non-transferable right to access and use your own analysis for your own training. You may not resell it or present it as your own product.

You confirm you have the right to upload. By uploading a video, you confirm that you filmed it yourself, or you have permission from whoever did, and that anyone else who appears in the video has agreed to it being uploaded and analysed. You are responsible for any claim that arises because you uploaded a video you did not have the right to share.

Your videos are only seen by your assigned coach and by the AI services used to generate your analysis. We do not share your videos publicly, sell them, or use them for marketing.

Using videos to improve Tumbl

We may use your videos and analysis data to improve how Tumbl recognises swimming technique — for example, by training our models to better identify stroke patterns. This helps us give better feedback to all swimmers. Your videos are never shared publicly, sold to third parties, or used for marketing.

You can object to this use at any time by turning it off in your account settings. When you do, we will not use your videos for this purpose going forward. Please note that this opt-out applies to future use only: where a video has already contributed to training one of our models, that learning is built into the model and cannot be reversed. Insights already incorporated into a trained model, and any aggregated or anonymised data that can no longer be linked back to you, may be retained.

Health, fitness and your safety

Please read this section carefully. Swimming and following technique advice carry inherent risks. By using Tumbl you accept the following.

  • You are responsible for being fit to swim. By using Tumbl, you confirm that you are in good health and physically fit to swim and to follow technique advice. If you have an injury, a medical condition, are pregnant, or have any doubt about your fitness to swim, you should consult a healthcare professional before following any recommendation we give.
  • Tumbl is technique feedback, not medical advice. Our analysis is general technique guidance. It is not medical advice, physiotherapy, or a substitute for a personal trainer, and neither the AI nor the reviewing coach has assessed your individual health, fitness, or medical history.
  • You are responsible for where and how you swim. Tumbl is not present when you swim. You are responsible for choosing a safe environment — including appropriate supervision or lifeguard cover, suitable water depth, and not swimming alone — and for using suitable equipment.
  • You take part at your own risk. You follow our technique recommendations at your own discretion and risk. Stop immediately and seek advice if you feel pain, dizziness, breathlessness, or any discomfort while swimming or following our advice.
  • No guaranteed results. Swimming technique improves at different rates for different people. We cannot and do not guarantee any particular improvement, performance, or result.

You may be asked to confirm that you have read and accept this section before you upload a video.

AI analysis and coaching

Your analysis is generated using AI and reviewed by a qualified coach before you see it. While we work hard to be accurate, AI analysis has limits and recommendations may not be suitable for everyone. Treat the feedback as guidance to be applied with your own judgement, alongside the health and safety points above.

Acceptable use

Only upload swimming videos that you have the right to share. Do not upload content that is illegal, harmful, or that features other people without their permission. Do not attempt to misuse, reverse-engineer, or disrupt the service.

Suspension and account closure

We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, misuse the service, or if we are legally required to. Where possible we will tell you first.

You can close your account at any time by emailing [email protected].

Our responsibilities and your rights as a consumer

We will provide the service with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits your statutory rights as a consumer, including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for loss that was not reasonably foreseeable at the time you bought the service, including any injury sustained while following technique recommendations in circumstances within your own control. You are responsible for your own safety in the water. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law.

Events outside our control

We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as major outages at our infrastructure providers, internet failures, or natural events.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service evolves. The date at the top will reflect any changes. If we make a significant change, we will let you know by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use Tumbl after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales, although if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.

Complaints

If something is not right, please email [email protected] and we will do our best to sort it quickly. If you are not happy with our response, you can raise a complaint with the relevant consumer protection body.
